Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone is an Indian actress who mostly appears in Hindi films. The actress has won three Filmfare Awards have been given to her, which make her one of India's most financially successful actresses. In lists for the country's most renowned celebrities; Time named her one of the top 100 influential people in the world in the year 2018 and gave her the TIME100 Impact Award in 2022. Padukone is her mother's badminton legend Prakash Padukone. She was raised in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. In her teens she competed in badminton at national level championships but left her professional career to become a fashion model. The model soon began receiving offers for film roles and began her acting career in the year 2006, playing the lead character in her debut film Kannada movie Aishwarya. Padukone was then cast in a double character alongside Shah Rukh Khan in her first Bollywood release, the romance Om Shanti Om (2007), which won her an award called the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Padukone's leading role on the film Love Aaj Kal was well appreciated, however it was followed shortly by an unexpected setback.
