Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modeling career in Italy. In 1996 she debuted as an actor in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. It took some time for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller character. The transition was difficult for Amy as she had change from modeling to the acting profession. Models aren't considered great actors, so they usually be given smaller roles that aren't very important. Amy had a determination to be successful and she eventually landed larger roles starting at The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. Amy then moved into leading roles in 2005's romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she'd been seeking since the age of 10. Amy was in several big movies in the Crank trilogy alongside Jason Statham. And she was also a regular character on The Shameless series.
