It was a combination of reggaeton and pop that not only drew attention to Latin music but as well reggaeton. The Billboard Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs from 2016 and two songs in 2015. At the peak of the popularity of Despacito the track was one of 19 that mainly Spanish have made it into the Top 100. In 2020, the number will increase to 41 songs that fall into this category. Justin Bieber's bilingual remix Despacito was released in 2017. Then, numerous popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton performers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018) as well as Madonna was a part of Maluma to create Medellin. In 2020, a few Reggaeton artists were complaining about the advancing of the genre towards the mainstream. But a newer generation such as Rauw Alejandro was determined to keep the trend going.
